FAMILY CONNECTION STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Applicant must be a senior student in Clark County School District for the entire 2020-2021 academic year (validated home schooling is acceptable).
Applicant must be related to a police officer within the State of Nevada (acceptable relationships: sister, brother, daughter, son, niece, nephew, granddaughter, grandson, or legally adopted child).
Police Officer must be a member of Adopt-A-Cop Nevada.
Applicant must maintain minimum weighted cumulative 2.5 GPA as of March 1, 2021.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Completed scholarship application
Community Involvement Resume and Essay
List and describe activities that you have participated in during the past three years that directly or indirectly benefit(ed) your community and/or persons within your community. Activity descriptions must thoroughly explain this benefit. Supplemental attachments may be included. Conclude your resume with a 300-500 word essay in response to “How does community service make a difference?”
Documentation of volunteer work/community service
Must include verification of minimum 50 hours (performed within the current academic school year) from an established business or organization.
Official copy of your high school transcript verifying your GPA.
Letter of recommendation from a teacher or school official attesting to your academic achievements and involvement in school sponsored clubs/organizations as well as attendance, study habits, diligence, and character. Letters of recommendation should be mailed to Adopt-A-Cop Nevada Family Connection Scholarship, PO Box 621703, Las Vegas, NV 89162.
Letter of recommendation from one or more adults (not teachers, school officials, or relatives) attesting to your character, leadership skills, and community involvement. Letters of recommendation should be mailed to Community Connect, Inc., PO Box 621703, Las Vegas, NV 89162.
Attendance of a one-day Life Skills Workshop presented by Community Connect, Inc. This workshop will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2023 (Time and location TBD).
Completed applications, letters of recommendation, and all supplemental materials must be received by Adopt-A-Cop Nevada before midnight SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2023.
